So, what is Clean Eating?
In my research and readings, there is not really one clear, consistent definition of clean eating. With the media these days, it would be easy to think that it is a ‘fad’ or a ‘buzz word’ but it isn’t. It is a lifestyle choice and a way of eating healthy, nutritious food.
Some major themes and concepts that are linked with the idea of clean eating:
- Choosing whole, unrefined foods (vegetables, fruits, lean meats)
- Eliminating processed and refined foods (lollies, white rice, white flour, cakes, white sugar etc)
- Inclusion of whole grains (brown rice, whole wheat etc)
- At least 8 glasses of water every day
