PALEO DIET: Is it nutritionally sustainable?

As the summer season looms near, more Aussies are looking back in time towards the diet regime of our early ancestors in an attempt to trim down and get fit.

Plucked straight from caves from century’s long ago,  Paelo is a strict high protein diet of meat, vegetables, fruit, eggs and nuts. Say, bye bye to new-age processed foods such as whole wheat and dairy- if it couldn’t be hunted and gathered in the Stone Age, than it sure won’t be on a paleo’s supermarket shopping list.

Protein is one of the basic building blocks to the human body and is responsible for about 16 percent of our total body weight. But this isn’t the reason weightloss wannabees and gym junkies are opting for protein rich diets. Protein, unlike fat and glucose have little capacity to be stored in the human body.
