The Sweet Stuff – Part 1

No not lollies (candy). I’m talking about carbohydrates(carbs). Carbs are sugars! When you eat your food, you essentially break it down into small sugar molecules, and these sugar molecules are super-duper important for metabolism.

Before I get into the nitty gritty of carbs and give you a general sciencey explanation about them, let me tell you a story (oddly enough I have a lot of stories about random things which come from all my trial and errors).

The backgroundThe boyfriend and I had gone to see a sports scientist and he recommended for us to monitor our nutrient intake. He did this by giving us a base limit of how many grams of our macronutrients (carbs, protein and lipids (fats)) we could eat and we’d track this online.
